Information Systems Outsourcing Analysis and Justification Using AHP
Information Strategy: The Executive Journal, Fall 1991.
BY ROBERT PUTRUS, PE, CMC, CFE
The analytic hierarchy process provides an effective approach for analyzing information systems outsourcing options. It involves identifying and comparing the major elements that contribute to achieving the company's most important strategic goal-- in most cases, achieving competitive advantage. These comparisons or rankings of business objectives and critical success factors are then used to determine to what extent various outsourcing options can increase competitive advantage and decrease costs without compromising the company's strategic goals or objectives.
